Our Scottish Experience

At the beginning of April the 4th grade of our mechanical engineering department made its language trip to Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland.

There the students spent their mornings in the classroom at CES Language School. In the afternoons, however, we were free to roam and feel this beautiful city. We explored the Underground Vaults, where we learned about Edinburgh´s grisly past, saw the magnificent Castle and climbed Arthur´s Seat, a volcanic rock, to experience a breathtaking view of the city.

The day trip took us to Alnwick Castle, which is not Scottish but English, set in beautiful Northumberland. There we spent our time browsing through the stunningly elegant State Rooms and the Castle´s vast exterior, where some scenes of the Harry Potter films were shot.

Unfortunately, the week was over far too soon, as we would have liked to enjoy the Scottish hospitality a little longer. Saturated and overall happy, 23 students and the two accompanying teachers Mrs Erd and Mrs Kainz returned home after an intensive time of learning and adventure in Edinburgh.
